chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 omg. found w/o a cover (plain sleeve): KD Jazz contracts....in a pile in my room whilst cleaning-- its a black label one. i looked it up, this lp was done up w/ a white label, a similar blue coloured label, and also my black label. one even was w/ the white label, pressed on red vinyl. anyways i wanted to know what order it goes in, pressingwise: is it: white-->blue-->black as i suspected by looking at prices? but visually i would say it should go black -->blue --> white- but i dont know, so yea...on an another note, is sonny not stepping up the mic on song 2 side 1? did someone put a sock over the mic? where are you sonny? underwater? i dont know abt this black label.... brownie Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Rollins does not play on 'Larue' (side 2, track 1). He did not play either on the KD feature 'But Beautiful' which was kept out of that stereo LP (I have the same black label release). That 'Jazz Contrast' was one of the very last Riverside that was originally released on the white label (that was the first design of Riverside LPs. The black label you have is the stereo version. Mono versions at that time came out on blue labels. Quote
