chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 im not going to get long winded about this, i am just saying, if its like a 60s bn release i prefer to hear the horns on different sides sometimes, like hanks over there, lees over there...i dont know....i mean w/ jazz stereo & mono isnt that big a change to me like, say, the stereo & mono sgt pepper. i mean if theres a mono mix like before 1962, ill prefer that but afterwards..i dont know how i picked 62 but i did. most bn after 62 id want stereo and most before, mono-- like the mono sidewinder, its awesome, but #1 im used to hearing the stereo so the famliarity part, and #2 actually hearing it in stereo is kind of, how i say, fun.. heres joe henderson, heres lee morgan.... Teasing the Korean Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Regardless of whether the mono albums were folddowns or not, I prefer everything on Blue Note through at least the late 60s in mono, and I always hit the mono button on stereo BNs. It brings everything into focus better, and you get a little more bass and piano in the process. Quote
