Dave James Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 How can you not love Jack Webb? As nearly as I can tell, he didn't have a scintilla of acting ability, but he parlayed what he did have into a pretty successful career. Of course, he was also married to Julie London and was a hard core jazz fanatic. He even used trumpeter Jack Shelton in a number of Dragnet 1970 episodes. Here's another clip of Webb a slightly less serious vein. Watch how he almost cracks up towards the end of the skit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pWBJiW0Xpo Quote
GA Russell Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 I like some of his radio shows, such as Pat Novak for Hire. They were all hard-boiled. The Dragnet radio shows were terrific too! Quote

I think Webb had tongue firmly in cheek with Pat Novak For Hire, I mean, the writing is too way over the top for that one. Quote
