Chuck Nessa Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Not as good as "farts by Art" but I could not find pics. Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 You used to be a driver, Aloc? i worked for many years in a large steel warehouse and learned a great many things from the drivers, much of it music. carrying huge loads of steel with sometimes unbalanced loads that may shift, and, knowing that sudden braking would send the metal right through their cabs, trucking regulations, and the expense and long hours is a very rough way to earn a living Quote
BeBop Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Growing up, my parents had a cabin just below (like 25 meters/yards below) Interstate 80 on the Donner Pass downgrade. All night long, the semis... After a while, it was almost a lullabye, giving me dreams of one day being on the road. Quote

JSngry Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 My Uncle Jake (RIP) bought a cab and flirted with the idea of becoming a driver. Didn't take him too long to become a dispatcher instead, but I did get to sit behind the wheel before he did. Even standing still and without a trailer attached it was easy to figure out that here was a whole 'nother world.... Quote
JohnS Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 When driving in the US I was puzzled by the jake break road signs. I guessed it must be noisy but that's about all. Question answered, thanks Aloc. Quote
