brownie
Was listening earlier today to the Big Miller album 'Did You Ever Hear the Blues?' on UA. The trumpet player on this 1959 all-star date (Jimmy Cleveland, Vic Dickenson, Phil Woods, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Jimmy Jones, Kenny Burrell, Elvin Jones, Jo Jones are among the musicians playing the arrangements by Budd Johnson) is one Pat Brooks who is featured on several excellent solos. Anybody has any idea who that Pat Brooks might be? It seems he only played on the three sessions that make up the album. I would bet this was somebody playing under an alias but could not identify him
