That's why when you travel, it's worth it if at all possible to go a block or two away from the interstate and find an actual grocery store. Keep a cooler of fruit, salad fixin's, juices, waters, etc. Worth the few extra minutes, trust me.

It always amazes me who people traveling don't want to go into a grocery store while there's on the road. Hell, besides the good stuff to take with you, many have a kitchen the prepares food and meals right there in-house, already prepped and made.

We're creatures of habit, and "fast food on the road" is a deeply ingrained one. But for real - a stop at a local grocery will one one way or another get you fed better and cheaper than will a tip to a fast fool joint. Try it and see!
