I wasn't expecting too much from this album based on the other pre-Dewey KJ albums I've heard, but this one is by far the best I've heard. The combo of Jarrett, Burton, and Sam Brown is great! Really strong compositions too.

The Burton album it's coupled with, Throb, is also really good.

What a pleasant surprise. I really need to check out more Burton on the basis of this one.

I like that album a lot, too. Do you know Burton's 70's albums on ECM? He had a great run with Swallow and Moses, and depending on the albums, Mick Goodrick and/or Pat Metheny, and Eberhard Weber.

Definitely check out the Burton on RCA and ECM.

I remember when I first bought that Jarrett and Burton on Atlantic shortly after it had come out I played it to death. It was a great album to take a few tokes to. I love Sam Brown's Tele sound on that one. And his playing. That combination of Jarrett and Burton had a unique texture to it. The arrangements and the compositions were nicely woven together as well. Pretty "one of a kind" lp, sort of in the way I think Filles de Kilamanjaro" is one of a kind.
