clifford_thornton Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Posting this for a friend. I wish I could be there but hopefully some of of you are able, interested, and can spread the word. Greetings, good people, I hope this message finds you well. Just wanted to let you know about an upcoming concert I helped to organize, featuring the percussionist Cleve Pozar (formerly known Bob Pozar), who played on Bill Dixon's landmark 1967 LP, Intents and Purposes, and who has also worked with Bob James, Robert Ashley, Cooper-Moore and many other jazz/experimental luminaries. For the first time since the '70s, Cleve will be performing pieces from his innovative private-press LP, Cleve Solo Percussion. The show will take place at The Firehouse Space in Brooklyn on Sunday, March 11, 2012. You'll find detailed info in the attached press release. Please spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. Cleve will be available for phone interviews leading up to the performance; please contact me if you're interested in speaking with him, or if you'd like to learn more about the performance. Best, HS P.S. Here are some excerpts from a series of interviews I conducted with Cleve in 2008: http://www.furious.com/perfect/clevepozar.html. And here's a taste of what to expect from the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xrf9-CNl1E. Quote
