.:.impossible Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Howdy folks. I wanted to share these calendar items with the New England contingency. Well, except for Allen Lowe, who knows that whenever someone mentions New England, they really mean NY, CT, RI, MA (VT, NH when the leaves are changing... OK maybe Sunday River in the thick of winter). From http://scottwclark.wordpress.com/ Next, on Wednesday May 9th we’re going to New Haven Connecticut to play at The Uncertainty Music Series presented by the great bassist/composer Carl Testa. The show will take place at The Elm Bar (372 Elm St. New Haven, CT). Show starts at 9pm ($5 suggested donation) and we’ll be playing 2 sets of music, one of which will be the second performance of our suite of music based off of the book “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown and on my own research into my family history. (more info Then on Thursday May 10th we’ll be playing at IBeam in Brooklyn, NY. This show will be with Blood Syndicate Trio featuring Darius Jones- alto,Jason Nazary- drums and Sean Conly- bass. Cameron, Darius and myself used to have a trio together when Darius was still living in Richmond called CUD, and we’re excited to be sharing the stage together again. The show starts at 8:30 and there is a $10 suggested donation. (IBeam 168 7th Street Brooklyn, NY 11215) And here are two clips of the group playing an EARLY morning gig on the local CBS affiliate's morning program in a very blue room. http://wtvr.com/2012/05/08/virginia-this-morning-scott-clark-4-tet/ Quote
relyles Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Are you Scott Clark? Who else is in the group? I can't access the wordpress site from work. Maybe I can sneak out to the New Haven performance. Quote
.:.impossible Posted May 9, 2012 Author Report Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) I am not Scott Clark. My name is Cary Ralston. My brother is a bassist in Richmond and I do a lot of the artwork for albums, gig posters, etc. The band is Bob Miller (trumpet), Jason Scott (tenor), Cameron Ralston (bass), Scott Clark (drums, compositions). Do check them out. I saw them play with Endangered Blood a few weeks ago and they were debuting some new material from a suite inspired by "some of the events described in the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown". Apparently, they played the entire suite the following week on a bill with Bererberg (Josh Berman, Christoph Erb, Fred Lonberg-Holm). Can you see the video footage from wtvr? Maybe someone can help me embed the video here? Edited May 9, 2012 by .:.impossible Quote
relyles Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Thanks for the extra info. No need to embed anything for me. As it turns out I probably will not be able to get down to New Haven tonight. Quote
.:.impossible Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 Doesn't sound like any of you made it out, but there are a couple of nice videos from the set to check out. http://scottwclark.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/new-scottclark4tet-videos/ Quote
.:.impossible Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 Perhaps I should put this in the Sandusky thread. Quote
