Hardbopjazz Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Bill Evans past away. What a loss. I'm listening to the "Complete Bill Evans on Verve" On disc 3. Quote
marcello Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 A useless note here: I happened to see Bill Evans at his last gig at Fat Tuesday. Joe La Barbera is a old friend, so I spent the entire evening there talking and listening. I remember Michel Legrand in the audience, front and center. Evens looked very bad and had to be helped, with a person on each arm, getting into the room. He played great, though. I believe there is a private recording of at least one set. Quote

Yes, but it doesn't have very good sound. Edited September 16, 2012 by Hardbopjazz Quote

Exactly the same situation at Ronnie Scott's a month or so before. Once he got to the piano he was a man on a mission. No Michel Legrand but at the first of the two Scotts gigs I caught, was seated next to (a very silent) Art Garfunkel. Edited September 16, 2012 by sidewinder Quote
