Stefan Wood Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Got this from da bastids, someone did some crate digging in Spain for jazz. All rare, and surprisingly good. There are non Spanish artists (Lou Bennett, for one), but all the titles were released in Spain during the 60s to early 70s, and it gives a glimpse as to the music scene there, tiny as it must have been. Artists include: Dusko Goykovich, Tino Contreras, Lou Bennett (in a smoking hot organ piece), Juan Carlos Calderon, Ella Fleta, Catelonia Jazz Quartet, and more. I like this better than volumes 2 & 3 of the Spiritual Jazz series on Jazzman. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Maybe a sort of continuation of this anthology of Spanish jazz? http://www.freshsoundrecords.com/jazz_en_barcelona_1925-1965_-_grabaciones_historicas_3_cd_boxset-cd-4359.html Quote
