Here's an actual reference question from work I thought y'all might be able to help me with - anyone know anything about an American (I presume) singer named Barbara Buchanan who made an album called American Favorites? Given what said album looks like and what I know about the caller, I'd say MOR pop, not jazz. Thanks.

I see that it's on the Mount Vernon Music (MVM) label. FWIW, there was a Bennie Green w/Jimmy Forrest record on that label as well.

I think the Bennie Green on Mount Vernon Music was originally on Enrica.

I'm certain that the Edmond Hall was originally on Rae-Cox.

Yes, you are correct. I wonder if all the MVM material was "second hand" like that, or if they also did original productions.
