romualdo Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 I've been listening to a radio broadcast (excellent SQ) of the Andrew Hill "Point Of Departure Sextet" playing at the 2000 Chicago Jazz Festival There are also a couple of trio/quartet tracks with Von Freeman (you can hear the crowd yelling "Vonski") Does anyone know the track titles/names (4 in total, including Von) - possibly a couple (2 longish 20min tracks) from the Palmetto Sextet "Dusk" release around the same time The Freeman tracks are shorter, one ballady Can this be discussed here? or are we in "bootleg" territory? sonnymax Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Hill's performance was supposed to feature a reunion with Bobby Hutcherson and Richard Davis. Instead, his sextet included Ron Horton, Marty Ehrlich, Aaron Stewart, Scott Colley, and Nasheet Waits, with Vonski as a special guest. Sorry, but I don't have any additional information about the tunes played. Perhaps you can inquire on the blog that offered these downloads. Quote
