Mark Stryker
Who doesn't love a Great Find story involving records?. Here's a doozy from a Pittsburgh record store involving 78s by Robert Johnson and a name that was new to me, Bogus Ben Covington http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/ae/art-architecture/rare-lp-spins-into-trade-for-drawing-by-noted-artist-677032/ Edited March 5, 2013 by Mark Stryker
mjzee
That's a great story. I hope they sell the t-shirts via mail order. Thanks for posting.

Noj
In stories such as these, it should be mandatory to include an upload of the music in question for listening purposes.
cih
A-side: B-side: "I dreamt I was sittin’ in a swell café as hungry as a bear. My stomach sent a telegram to my Throat: ‘There’s a wreck on the road somewhere’." Besides the Covington sides, and sides he did as Ben Curry, he is possibly in the line-up of the Birmingham Jug Band records (according to Big Joe Williams) also featuring Jaybird Coleman, which are pretty great Edited March 5, 2013 by cih
Neal Pomea
Heard these from Joe Bussard's collection but can't remember what condition they were in.
Jim R
"...After some halfhearted haggling, the man settled for $50, which was $49 more than they were worth as far as Jerry was concerned."I can't help but wonder if the actual truth got lost somewhere along the way. No record store owner I ever met would spend $50 on a box of records that they thought was close to worthless. Either Weber spotted something(s) of value in the box, or the writer misunderstood (or has exaggerated) the story, it seems to me.
