But in spite of the lack of arts and music programs, Giavanna was determined to master jazz. She learned to play by ear, listening to the radio and CDs. That's one of the more silliest things I've read recently. "Misunderstood", "reinterpreted", "appropriated (superficially and/or not)", "selectively (and/or but deeply) explored", any of that, yeah, ok, no comment from me one way or the other, but "completely forgotten all about" is just plain stupid.
