michel devos
The Jimmy Smith Trio toured extensively Europe in the first quarter of 1987. They played a club in Brussels, with Grady Tate on drums and a guitar player that appeared to be Barry Galbraith, but I do not think this possible, since Barry had passed earlier than 1987...Would a quasi homonym Terry Galbraith exist...? Any help would be greatly appreciated
brownie
Definitively not Barry Galbraith. He died in January 1983.
Claude
Hello Michel, Have you read the guitarist's name or heard it on an announcement (perhaps mispronounced)? His 1989 album Prime Time has a certain Terry Evans on guitar (probably not identical to the singer referred to on AMG), who is also present on this 1988 concert in Germany: ZDF JazzClub - Jimmy Smith Quartet & Barbara Dennerlein Trio ZDF 1988 - Länge: 69 Minuten Jimmy Smith - Orgel Herman Riley - Saxophon Frank Wilson - Schlagzeug Terry Evans - Gitarre http://www.jazzforum-flensburg.de/3sat_jazzt.htm Edited February 9, 2004 by Claude
