mikeweil Posted July 15, 2018 Report Posted July 15, 2018 (edited) It is in the field of pre-1600 keyboard music that historically informed performance practice has probably made the greatest progress during the last twenty years. What earlier generation players presented as a dry, scholarly music, now sounds passionate and playful. Corina Marti sounds like a musician from the past who travelled to us to show us how this music can sound when approached properly. Magnificent playing, beautifully sounding instruments and excellent recorded sound - and inexpensive. A perfect introduction to this type of music. Buy any of her CDs with confidence. mikeweil Posted July 15, 2018 Report Posted July 15, 2018 I hesitated to buy this, as I do not like some of Belder's recordings, but got a copy of this at half price - he's very much at home with the music here and sounds good - he just finished the series of 12 CDs. Some ahead of me, it seems. Quote
mikeweil Posted July 16, 2018 Report Posted July 16, 2018 Great! Bach was influenced by Dieupart, he had his prints or copies of them. This definietly is one of the sources of inspiration for his own (orchestral) suites. Quote
