Referentzhunter Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) Sonatas Nos. 3,4,5&6 The spontaneity and fluidity are present in these recordings. I have to compare them more against his second cycle but at the moment i am leaning towards this one. Great stuff. Edited August 22, 2019 by Referentzhunter Quote
JSngry Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 Took a few listens for the Sessions to come together for me, but it got there. The McPhee seems to reveal itself immediately, no idea what the long-range implications of that are. Cool cover, too. Quote

I like Brendel's Schubert as far as i've heard. I believe he recorded some of Schubert's work two times. Quote

My LP is from Brendel's first set of Schubert recordings for Philips (recorded in analog). The Schubert set that Peter Friedman posted is Brendel's second for Philips (recorded digitally). I'm now listening to Rudolf Serkin's wonderful Beethoven set: Disc 6 - Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53 "Waldstein" - Sonata No. 23 in F Minor, Op. 57 "Appassionata" - Sonata No. 24 in F-Sharp Major, Op. 78 - Sonata No. 26 in E-Flat Major, Op. 81a "Les adieux" Edited August 22, 2019 by HutchFan Quote

mikeweil Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 Early "Clavier"-Concertos from a Munuscript now preserved in a Slovenian library. Great notes by an expert from Austria: The Austrain composers developped their concertos independentzly from German traditions, had no idea of the Bach family or Haendel concertos. Quote
