Previn's recording is my favorite version of Vaughan Williams' "Sinfonia Antartica."  I love how Previn embraces the strange, otherworldly elements in this music -- and the spoken introductions before each movement.

Wonderful ....

Debut recording of a pianist we will definitely hear from in years to come. Very expressive playing, the instrument's dynamics by far surpass that of a modern piano. It is anonymous, built ca. 1785, a type known to all four composers, in perfect shape, and possibly built by Friedrici from Gera, who was C.P.E. Bach's favourite builder.
