Dub Modal Posted April 2, 2021 Report Posted April 2, 2021 (edited) A friend of mine helped put this performance (a virtual mini-concert) of Bach's Passacaglia & Fugue in C Minor together with other trombonists from around the country (and Canada). Was listening to it on this morning's walk and enjoyed it. Figured some of you may enjoy it too, especially if you dig trombone: Edited April 2, 2021 by Dub Modal Quote

mikeweil Posted April 3, 2021 Report Posted April 3, 2021 Last night before turning the lights out: This is extraordinary music. Alessandro's instrumental music is very much underrated, but due to attributions of some spurious sources in the last 20 years the work list has grown considerably. Of course "String quartet" as a genre didn't exist back then, he simply wrote for four strings without figured bass and wanted it to be performed that way. But they wante to sell and so are looking for a label to promete this beautiful and perfectly crafted. I prefer his string pieces to Corelli's. Quote
