HutchFan Posted April 11, 2016 Report Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) FYI to all who live in metro Atlanta: Dave Liebman's new group, Expansions, will be playing in Athens at Hendershot's Coffee House & Bar on Tuesday, 04/19. Details here. Two days later, on Thursday, 04/21, they'll be playing at the Red Clay Music Foundry in Duluth. Details here. I will definitely be at the performance in Duluth. I may go to the show in Athens too, depending on my work schedule. I'm looking forward to hearing Lieb again. I just did a phone interview with Dave Liebman in February for a cover story in May's issue of The New York City Jazz Record. Ken Dryden Posted April 22, 2016 Report Share Posted April 22, 2016 It was great to run into HutchFan and his friend, though the crowd was sparse. I guess Atlanta jazz fans don't want to drive 10-12 miles outside of the I-285 perimeter on a weeknight. It was worth the drive for me and we heard an all electric set.
