Lazaro Vega
Guitarist Ed Cherry is known in jazz circles for his time with jazz giant Dizzy Gillespie. Today, he's enjoying the organ/guitar/drums combination with two recent releases on Posi-tone records. Friday night's Jazz From Blue Lake, featuring music by Ed Cherry, Jack DeJohnette and The Beer City Saxophone Ensemble is still available today on demand fromhttp://199.176.235.218/ondemand.pl
mjzee
I have a fond memory of New Year's Eve 1996 (?), doing First Night in Montclair, NJ...walking into a bank lobby and seeing a duet of Ed Cherry and a flautist. Very enjoyable. Ed's done some very satisfying albums; check out "First Take" and "A Second Look," both on Groovin' High records.
