It will be my first time at Météo, last year looked excellent also. Anybody else from Switzerland, France or Germany considering on coming? Or even from overseas for a holiday?

Amazing line-ups and I really don't know the locals save for that great recording by the second to the last band with the great French trumpter with Ewart, etc.

the festival if *just* for the drummers is mind-bending:

Mark Sanders, Paal Nilssen-Love, Kjell Nordeson, Michael Vatcher, Michael Zerang and Hamid Drake!!!! And I might have missed some!?!? Incredible bounty you will experience, Oliver

Can't make it for weekdays (only Friday, maybe Thursday - my vacation plans for this year are already settled and alas I don't have nearly as much vacation as I would like ) - but I see Roscoe is on Saturday - guess I should try.

Don't usually follow what's going on in Mulhouse, Strasbourg (or even Basel) mostly - should change that!

I need to hear that "Bridge" session you mention Steve. I am really fond of Jean-Luc Cappozzo's playing as heard on the latest Joelle Léandre tentet recording on Ayler (on which there are many distinguished intrumentists by the way, one other favorite being Christiane Bopp), or also in duo with Léandre (Leo records).

The drummer line-up is very enticing! Thanks for pointing this out, I hadn't seen it that way.

Hope you will make it there king ubu, I often come back to reading your review on your recent Warsaw trip.

I actually just made a hotel reservation for August 24-29 - no need for Shepp/Kühn and not enough vacation days left this year ...) - not 100% sure yet I'll make it, need to check schedules and figure out things, but I'd love to catch The Thing/McPhee and Roscoe Mitchell and some of the others in between ... if I make it, I'll probably miss the lunch concert (Gustafsson) but will be there for Zeena Parkins solo - long time I heard her play live but it was great (Phantom Orchard, had my selfmade AUD on my blog for a long time ... actually only last year caught up with the fine Phantom Orchestra Orchestra release on Tzadik or wherever it came out).
