Avreeayl Ra Attacked

Drummer Avreeayl Ra was attacked and beaten by a gang of racist scum in Chicago early Saturday morning. He's likely going to be physically okay, but will be out of work recovering for some time -- and the psychological trauma from such an incident is itself tough to imagine. This is horrible news.  I hope that the police catch his attackers and that Avreeayl Ra makes a speedy and full recovery.  He's a heck of a drummer.  I haven't seen him perform in person, but I hope to see him at some point in Chicago or with one of the many Chicago groups that play here.
