Ted Hearne - Furtive Movements (Ashley Bathgate / Ron Wiltrout)

Thanks for this. He's one of those young composers whose name shows up on composer sites I visit
as well as composer-based emails I get, but I'd yet to hear any of his work. I'll see, sometimes, his
"unusual" combinations of instruments that spark my interest, but that's usually as far as it goes.

I've been meaning to mention to you a label, NEOS,
that I've really loved for a quite a few years now that
really highlights some very good younger, "new-crop"
composers and performers that you might find interesting
in varying degrees. I don't know how accessible the music
is thru Spotify, Pandora, or whatever you use for streaming,
but you might be able to explore some works thru their website.
It is one of those labels that, with enough money, I'd be a near completist.

Somebody else has mentioned Neos to me. Where there's smoke...

I dig how this piece overtly engages elements of the Max Roach solo drum techniques and timbres as known quantities/pre-existing conditions/etc, grist for the compositional mill...nice to know that people were paying attention, assuming that they were.
