Roscoe Mitchell Chicago Festival Sept 3

The program of 2 quartets is now finalized with Roscoe, Fred Berry, Jaribu Shahid (subbing for Malachi Favors) and Alvin Fielder (Before There Was Sound Quartet) and Roscoe, Tomeka Reid, Junius Paul and Vincent Davis (billed as Mitchell's Chicago Quartet).

what a bummer!! - I'm going to be in Chicago (from Australia) from 24-27th Sept - missed out by three weeks

Chuck, can you recommend anything jazz wise (I'm partial to avant/free/improv) over that time period (not a big time frame) in Chicago

Will be checking out the Green Mill

What Chuck left out is that is that Mitchell's concert celebrates 50 years of Nessa Records.

We won't be getting in to Chicago till Sun pm - unfortunately will miss most of the performances
