jazzbo Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Even two dollars cheaper at cduniverse.com The original two volumes of Hoagy released on JSP were fantastic compilations in great sound .. .. .. looks as if all the material is here in this set plus more. . . wonder what the sound is like and doubt the notes will be as great. DrJ Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Wow, is it just me or have there been an inordinate amount of nice archival releases hitting the market lately? Another to add to the list, but fortunately cheaper than most! Quote
BERIGAN Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 His tune Cosmics makes me wish he had done more like it, not that I am complaining about what he did do.... Quote

Yeah, I really like that one too, Berigan--I think he wrote it for some kind of composition contest in the early 1930s (I'll have to check Sudhalter's bio again). Sounds rather Bix-influenced, don't you think? (Fancy that!) Quote

BruceH Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Wow---a Hoagy box. I'd pay a lot for a nice box of Hoagies, depending on how many were in the box, and how fresh they were. Mmmm! Quote
