I just found out about this compilation that was released last Fall. Seems to be a Cherry Red release, which are generally excellent.

It has a chunk of Morricone's avant-garde work plus some other interesting material by Berio (incl Sinfonia w. Swingle Singers!), Nono and Maderna. Doesn't fit into the budget right now, but on the long-term wish list.
