Any CD's there that might be worth her picking up for me? Plus, would the cost be the same if I ordered them from the states. I read once that you pay list price for CD's in Japan, no discounts.

If memory serves me, Disk Union and Recofan stores have a discount card system that gives you 10% off purchases. Both of these stores also have used CD sections where bargains can be had.

The Disk Union stores near Shinjuku and Shibuya stations had good selection and good used stock. Recofan in Shibuya also has good used selection.

Tower records in Shibuya gives no discounts, but they did have a whole floor dedicated to jazz.

The Tower Records in Shibuya and Virgin Megastore in Shinjuku are my two favorite brick and mortars in the whole world. I can spend all day in either one.
