The great musician died on December 12, 2025, at the age of 70 after a long illness - R.I.P.

I remember I saw and heard her in Miles´ band from late 1985. Mike Stern had returned after Scofield left, and I must admit I liked Stern more in Miles´ band than Scofield, maybe for a lot of you that might be a sacrilege but Stern had more the power I enjoyed from Miles guitarists from 1973 on....(Reggie Lucas, Pete Cosey !).

Yes, I remember Marilyn Manzur had a special solo spot and maybe also danced a bit. 

But in general it was not the most memorable Miles Concert: I saw him in the same year in summer and somehow the band, or Miles himself had more power, and as I remember the November 85 concert was the only Miles Concert I ever saw that was not sold out ! 

Maybe there was a kind of unsureness of Miles where to go next musically, since the deal with Columbia ended and it was before the deal with Warner Brothers.
