Claude Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Thanks tjobbe, I'll be in Munich next week and hope to be able to pass at the local 2001 store. The Universal CDs are the most interesting, as the ZYX remastering is very erratic. Quote
couw Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I saw those Universals in stores some weeks ago. They look splendid. Very nicely done. I'll be picking some of these up as soon as budget allows... Quote
Aggie87 Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I noticed the '04 remaster of "ASCENSEUR POUR L'ECHAFAUD" on that list. Anyone know if this is the long version or the short version of this material? I'm trying to decide whether to replace my recent Jazz in Paris version, which is the short one. And I'm curious about the echo/no echo thing as well, and whether this is the same (bad?) mastering as the recent Japanese issue, as mentioned by the Man with the Golden Gun on this thread. Thanks, Erik Quote
tjobbe Posted April 22, 2004 Author Report Posted April 22, 2004 Hi Erik, I've ordered the Miles Davis (and obviously some other of the Universals ) so I can tell you hopefully soon about this. @Claude: yes.. the ZYX are somewhat strange if you get the wrong ones, but most of the Pablos e.g. are not that bad, and ....hey 5€ ... B) , and if you do not want to spent the money for the K2/SACD Art Peppers, the ZYX will do fine. Cheers, Tjobbe Quote

It is the complete 26 track edition. I've commented on the sound in the other thread Quote
couw Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Man with the Golden Gun a little Freudian slip of the keys, I assume? Quote

If this edition doesn't have the mechanical whirling noise that Golden Arm mentioned, then I'm going to probably pick it up. Need the extra 16 tracks! -Erik Quote
