I'm afraid I can't get to town, but the event continues that evening at the Vortex - easy walking distance from OTO, for anyone unfamiliar with the area but tempted.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's a fabulous release
I'm playing
Kofi Flexxx - Flowers In The Dark [Native Rebel, UK 2023]
having streamed it a few times I thought it was time to actually buy it. Until reading the credits just now I hadn't realised @Alexander Hawkinswas so involved in it.
Oh yes, that's a really interesting record...the sessions were a really fun process. (FWIW I also play on 'Eyes In The Tower', the Con & Kwake release on Native Rebel...a hip hop record with some very interesting production!). Thanks for listening!

I saw you two there, and it was excellent, so I'm very excited about this.
I've bought the digital album.
Thanks so much - I really hope you enjoy it!

I'm not sure - although I believe I have some copies on the way, so can gladly hook you up when they arrive!

Just wanted to leave this link here...my most recent release - a duo with the amazing Nicole Mitchell. It's called 'At Earth School', and is out now on Astral Spirits. Hopefully it might be of interest to at least a few!

I had the pleasure of writing the liner notes for Angelika's new one, which I think is stunning!

Berne plays at Lowlands in Brooklyn most Thursdays. This week with Matt Mitchell, Brandon Seabrook & Tim Angelo. I plan on being there. 3-4 feet away. I’ve seen Tim about 10 times this year at this tiny bar. He walks there from his home. He often brings high profile players like Michael Formanek (last week) and Chris Potter (the week before). Great to hear Potter solely on bass clarinet tearing it up. Oscar Noriega is often with him as well. Amazing clarinet player. I’ve seen David Torn there twice with him as well. Plus Ches Smith who is as incredible as Rainey is in a far different way.
No CD’s yet with Belisle-Chi but there is download with Tim, Gregg & Rainey on Bandcamp with many of the songs they play live. I have not listened.
Wooley’s Columbia Icefield has 2 releases. With Mary Halvorson, Susan Alcorn & Ryan Sawyer. They are both great. Mutual Aid Music 2 releases / single CD and 3 CD box. Very demanding music.
tonight Mat Maneri’s Quartet with Lucian Ban, Brandon Lopez and the *great* Randy Peterson for 2 sets at Jazz Gallery in Manhattan. Saturday night Fred Frith with Zeena Parkins. Next Wednesday Fred with Nava Dunkelman and 2 other woman string players I’m unfamiliar with. Golden time for live music in New York. I’ve been going to 10-12 shows a month this past year. Glorious.
Just a quick one - but there is this one of Tim and Gregg together on Intakt. I also caught them in Germany (in trio with Hank Roberts) sometime last year when we intersected on tour, and it was absolutely stunning.

Very much enjoying episode 22, my first episode.
I don't visit Mixcloud often, is it possible to get a full track rundown somewhere on the app?
Scratch that, seen how to do so now
Thanks for listening, Mark!

Aha!
Yeah, this show is a peek inside the composer's mind. Great programming, sir.
Really appreciate that - thank you!

is the breaking a vase a reference to "Rip, Rig & Panic" ?
will definitely check some of this out -- @ep1str0phy and I were just talking about you.
Oh - no, but I *love* that moment (and remember being completely knocked out by it when I first heard it)...it was in fact a Derek Walcott reference! Hope all well with you, Clifford.

I'd missed this. Will have a listen tomorrow.
Is it on any podcasters for download? Or would one need internet?
@Rabshakeh - so sorry - I missed this! I believe you can download from Mixcloud...although I have to confess - I just don't know whether or not you need to subscribe to the channel to do that!
