Famous Cigar Smokers...or not

Here's my favorite:

The Ashton VSG

All sizes kick an equivalent amount of ass.

Ah, the VSG yum....The VSG enchantment is truely magical! Too bad I can only afford to smoke a couple few of these a year! I'm looking foward to trying some Padron anni 64 and 26 series sticks.

Famous? How 'bout the greatest of all American newspapermen, H.L. Mencken?

I like a PG (Paul Garmirian).....a Macanudo 'Hyde Park'...or an Ashton 'Corona' (heck, any Ashton'll do)

Up.

In smoke, of course!

Cigars I have enjoyed over the past few days; Havanas, of course (sorry all you Ugly Americans!)

- Partagas Serie du Connaisseur no. 2

- Juan Lopez Seleccion no. 2 (a brand I never tasted before. I'll return to theses awesome robustos!)

- Partagas Serie D. No. 1 Edicion Limitada 2004. One word for this one 'magnifico'!

Hold on there. We sometimes get Cubans. :P

I have a friend visiting from Bangkok. He was kind enough to present me with a Montecristo No. 2 at dinner lastnight. :tup

Just got back from a nice lunch and cigar at the local country club.

Cuban Vegas Robaina Unico. Give this one a try Brownie. Down to my last couple from a 4 year old box.

Golf Course At Newcastle has a great cigar lounge. If the Guinness wasn't $6 a pop and the memberships were a little less than $150,000, I'd still be there. :D

I think this is one of the 3 EL's I have resting. I'll try to let them age another year, but who knows. :D

Currently perfuming the room with smoke from a Gispert Habaneras No. 2. Purchased a box of these Small Coronas during an expedition to Andorra where the Havanas are cheaper than anywhere else in the world including Cuba.

Other Havanas I bought with the help of the last edition of Havanoscope, a yearly French newspaper size edition that deals with Havana cigars only and rates all the available brands. An amazing range of those are available in Andorra.

These are some of the cigars I bought (in small quantities all!):

- Bolivar Belicosos Finos,

- Cuaba Tradicionales,

- El Rey del Mundo Grandes de Espana,

- H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1,

- H. Upmann Sir Winston Churchill,

- Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 1,

- Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 2,

- Punch Churchills,

- Punch Double Coronas,

- Saint Luis Rey Churchills,

- Saint Luis Rey Coronas.

Planning to enjoy the Punches I never smoked before.

Just an idea of the prices for these handmade cigars, the Punch Churchill sells for €7,15 (about $8,5). The same Punch sells for €12 in Paris stores.

The evening is a smoking one :)

There is a nice Habanos shop in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico that I visit when I'm there. Mexican tobacco tax is about 200%, so that churchill would be about $30. It's fun to look and buy a few cheap, but tasty machine mades.

I buy from here instead. LINK

Cigars are nasty. Sometimes, when I'm playing the Green Door Lounge here in town, some asshole will light up a huge cigar and of course he's sitting right to the side of the stage, 3 feet from me, blowing that shit in my face.

:tdown

Weird, just the opposite for me. Everytime I light up a cigar there is some guy playing an odd sounding organ, and disturbing my conversation. :D

A friend of mine had some of those and offered me a couple of them. I told him I would rather keep them for some time but he started one and I went along. Great smoke!

Luckily there was no damn organ player around to spoil the pleasure :g
