Yes, nice show, even though I have #3,4,5,6,8 and 10 in my (admittedly small) record collection!

A Lark Ascending
Yes, another excellent JRR: Sidney Bechet Shake It and Break ItJohn Graas MozartesqueBenny Goodman Bach Goes to TownKenny Graham BoomSister Rosetta Tharpe Precious MemoriesGeorge Shearing It Could Happen to YouWes Montgomery ImpressionsKen McIntyre & Eric Dolphy They All LaughedStan Getz Heres That Rainy DayCraig Milverton Carrot CruncherDizzy Gillespie After Hours Really fascinated by the 'classical' twiddling on the Graas (who I only know as a name) and Goodman. I've never much cared for Shearing but really enjoyed his 'It Could Happen To You' which kept threatening to turn into Chopin! The other one that lept out was the Sister Rosetta Tharpe - have to get that Proper Box out again. BillF
Just finished listening to Jazz Record Requests on BBC Radio 3 Always like the Nestico Basies, so disappointed to find that "Have a Nice Day", played on the show, is unobtainable, as far as I can see. A Lark Ascending
Jazz Record Requests from BBC Radio 3 Now playing: Jimmy Rowles, "Ballad of Thelonious Monk" Me too! Be what the devil was "Neville Dickie — The Robin’s Return"? Sounded like Mrs Mills. I'm as bewildered as the chap who requested it said he is about most of what they play on JRR. A Lark Ascending
Good lord! I assumed this was from the early 50s! It's contemporary with the Stones 'Let it Bleed'!!!!
sidewinder
A new one on me, despite (or because of) his chart-busting activities! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Dickie I certainly knew about him - but not that he'd recorded with Dick Morrissey. An unlikely combination !
