BERIGAN
Was just listening to Pandora, and this song showed up....its on a Classics cd called Complementary tracks....did some googling...couldn't find out any real info on her...looks like she sang on a Count Basie track or two, and with Cootie Williams & His Rug Cutters...but what about her band? How long did she have it? How long was she around the music biz? Thanks for any info.
johnlitweiler
Five stars for this. She's also one of the few good singers on the Ellington small groups Mosaics.
jazzbo
"Rain, Rain Go Away" and "Summertime" were done with Basie guys "away from Basie."

bichos
fine singer! but: it was long believed that this 25 april 1939 session included lester young in the personnel. that is incorrect, but: is it ernie powell (as mentioned in the liner notes to the "masters of jazz" lester young vol. 1 series) or most likely kermit scott (as mentioned in the w. bruyninckx vocalists discography)? keep boppin´ marcel
