Brilliant Corners vinyl (like HutchFan, I have the Arista-Freedom LP) sounds "better" than the CD, but - don't think it sounds "good", it doesn't, only by comparisopn.

Definitely one of those sessions where it's a good thing the music is so strong!

Playing my Andorran CD of 'Brilliant Triangles', I'm slayed by the killer hypotenuse between Woody Shaw and Joe Chambers.

Suddenly I'm back in fifth grade, reading "Cracked" magazine! ;)

I was reading the preview for this post on the unread content page thinking to myself, “what is he talking about? Brilliant Corners sounds great!”

Been binging on various Woody Herman releases from the different decades, but I’ve been gravitating to some of the recordings with Bill Chase. Jeez, great stuff!

Getting ready to steep some freshly ground coffee in the French-press, which will pair nicely with some hard-bop from the Jazz Messengers. This is an ol’ standby.  Indestructible has one hell of a front line- Morgan, Shorter, and Fuller. Energy and fire on this one.

Morgan’s "Calling Miss Khadija" is such a cool cut; usually spin it twice.

Happy listening.

Grant Green - Organ Trio and Quartet: I wish that I could track down reasonably priced CDs of Sam Lazar's other albums.
