Creating MP3s?

I have pre-existing mp3s I downloaded that I am able to play on this new car stereo I got recently. I've got 1 cdr with 157 tracks on it.

My question is, how can I make mp3s of tracks off my cd collection so I can make a wild and crazy 150+ song jazz disc?

I have Toast (4.1.1 I think?) for Mac and I tried to figure it out for an hour last night to no avail. I'm thinking my software might not have the capability...

Here is a good guide to using EAC

Didn't mean to diss you 7/4. I just think the other software produces much better results.

If you really want to get technical about encoding then check out this forum:

HYDROGEN AUDIO

I've been using mKw for years and its production is flawless. You can convert any audio files into .mp3 or .shn files into and back from .wav flies and its interface is simple and very easy to use. All the info you need is here...

I've been usuing this in conjunction with EAC for extraction for years and have been entirely pleased with the results.
