brownie Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 This is an excellent date. Did not realize it could be rare which it might be since it was widely distributed over here. It was reissued in France in a lookalike cardboard jacket by Pathe Marconi in 1984. Max Roach and Stan Levey share drumming duties. Each play on four tracks. Max Roach is on'Facts About Max', 'Swingin' The Blues', 'Blues In the Night' and 'The Count's Blues'. Stan Levey is on the four others. There is no vocal by either Perkins or Cooper. Perkins is on the tracks with Max Roach, Coop is on the tracks with Levey. Sound on the reissue is not good, very filtered. Pathe Marconi reissued several Liberty albums at the time, including a Abbey Lincoln date. Quote
