    Not ONE Les McCann included!!!!

    I know. Almost as if people who are interested in Les McCann are supposed to access his music in some other way. They charge an outrageous 60 pence per album and that's how they treat the people who wouldn't buy it anyway, even if it DID contain Les McCann. Still, I guess its just another Porsche in the garage to these euro-crooks (or another villa in Spain - while dead musicians starve!).

    Les lives! (Well, I think so.)

    Actually, I'd buy it if there were some McCann in it. I bought the execrable and pretentious (in my view) Joe Pass Mosaic, just for the two Les McCann albums included.

    i'm right behind you on 'matador'. now's the time i need to sort out the sonny clark titles as well. i have 'quintets', 'the 45 sessions' and 'blues in the night' but always stayed away from the north american issue of 'my conception'. it seems this reissue of the 'original' is lacking some titles by comparison, right....?

    Listening to the Led Zep I remaster on Spotify now, sounds great. I've heard all the "hits" so to speak, not the albums in context. used to have the Led Zepplin DVD with the incredible Moby Dick solo

    you can hear the merits or quality of a remaster via streaming in spotify..............?

    i gave 'bird feathers' no fewer than four listenings over the weekend. i was stunned with how clear and present the mastering is, and very quiet. this title receives my highest recommendation. although it's what some may describe as "your typical blowing session", it's well assembled and seems to coalesce better than most. i can only hope that the remainder of the titles are this good. i'm placing an order of 15 other titles in the series today... (including the aforementioned dolphy title discussed some time ago)

    i recently received 'bird feathers' but haven't listened yet... a large order pends on how this goes, but i'm hoping for good things. this is a catalog that has been reissued and reissued many times over in japan and the prior titles i have, such as the DSD mini lp's that alexandros refers to above, have all been varying degrees of excellent.
