  6. Nice programme. And you have to hand it to Geoffrey Smith for ending the subsequent JRR Valentine Special with Eric Dolphy's 'Straight Up and Down'. I heard that one at the end, but will have to catch up with the rest of the programme online tomorrow.
  7. It's a Marty Paich big band album of familiar Great American Songbook themes. As such it was aimed at a more general audience than the 100% jazz albums we've been discussing. Of course, Art Pepper was also on board for this one, but committed jazz listeners are likely to prefer Art Pepper + Eleven: Modern Jazz Classics if they want to hear him in a Paich big band context.

  14. The only Niewood in my collection is on Little Wing: The Gil Evans Orchestra Live in Germany, recorded in October 1978. I don't know the label, as I've had it for years on audio tape!
