Two sessions, one for television in Belgium, the other a concert in Switzerland. As you might expect, the second is the more relaxed date and some gentle joshing can be seen from band members. The TV date has some soloists sitting on enormous artificial steps, Phil Woods looking uncomfortable with his knees almost up to his chin! And what a star-studed cast - Clark Terry (on the first session), Benny Bailey, Jimmy Cleveland, Quentin Jackson, Julius Watkins, Phil Woods, Jerome Richardson, Budd Johnson, Sahib Shihab and Les Spann! Unusually for 1960, two women in the band - Melba Liston and Patti Bown.
