Hypocrites. They train the hotline staff to talk customers out of canceling their account. Yep. Unfortunately, I was with AOL when I first saw this thread, and I have since gone through the cancHELLation process. I had hoped that this news story might have made it easier to dump them, but my experience was very similar to what happened to Mr. Ferrari. My wife actually initiated the phone call, not long before we had to go someplace. I had to take over the call since my name was the first listed on the account (my wife's name was on it as well, which makes that kind of absurd). Actually, I think it took me even longer to take care of it than Ferrari. Not a fun experience.

I think it goes a tad overboard at times, but I've learned to loosen up (a year ago I woulda been havin' numerous hissy fits )
