jbs-tom replied to jbs-tom's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
oh now his feedback is private !! i am really glad i have started this topic - although from the beginning under another more positive aspect - but it really shows, you should be not getting blind for blue notes not that bad, just decided yesterday to focus more on blues records now (too much jazz the last months and really no "new sounds from the blue note, prestige, riverside family which i did not heard somehow or do not have in my collection ... but let me know if somebody is selling his original issues of these 2 records: lou donaldson - the time is right bennie green - back on the scene greetings -

Agree with that... same old hysteria, with same esnipers, same music, same records seen a hundred times, (all are very rare, the occansion of a lifetime etc etc etc...) same japaneses / taiwanese / coreans etc... no description of the records, no picture, unpolite answers to questions '"yes mate" "nope mate !". The worst in Ebay auction is here. ... to the point "seen a hundred times": we should not make the mistake only because a record is NOT rare, it can not be essential /a masterpiece!! ´ same with the price of course: a high price is not = essential or a masterpiece -

i think we should be fair: of course there are existing thousands of even more "essential" jazz records (and by the way this topic i did not start to discuss ALL essential records on this planet), but also we must admit these are a lot jazz masterpieces in superb condition (if description is right) and all ending same time from one seller. -
... i do not know this seller, but it is really amazing what he is selling all at once ! (check the jazz items) ebay jazz collection i think there will be much shipping traffic from italy to japan

Yes, great deal! Those titles in the VICJ-23*** series were running 2,300 yen when released back in the early 90's. I've been on a vocalist kick lately so I'm definitely in for that Bev Kelly 'In Person'....... ....Cracklin & Bley as well!! same with me at the moment - jazz and entertaining female vocalist - also very nice blossom dearie and helen carr. just ordered from hiroshi the beverley kenny sings for johnny smith
-
*henry townsend - tired of being mistreated* he just past away 2 month ago a very often overlooked blues singer with a depth in his voice hard to find
-
i just put yesterday the breakthrough title on my want on ebay ! bidding on that one already. euclid records (seller on ebay) has 3 titles of him for auction.
