  1. Dvorak - String Quartet No.10, Op.51 Beethoven - Piano Concerto No.2, Op.19 - Kempff/ Berlin Philharmonic/ Paul van Kempen
  2. These kind of lengthy Jam Session recordings are far from favorites of mine. They usually have a few good solos, but just one long set of solos gets rather tedious in my opinion. There are, of course, some exceptions such as the lengthy Jam Session with Bird, Hodges, Carter, etc. I would find these very long tunes much more interesting if there were arrangements with some group playing between and setting off each soloist.
  3. Brahms - Piano Concerto No.2, Op.83
  4. Cover art by Andy Warhol
  5. Mozart - Piano Concerto No.26, K.537 "Coronation" Chopin - Piano Concerto No.2, Op.21
  6. John Coltrane can also be heard with Art Blakey on this one. Johnny Griffin Septet - A Blowing Session - Blue Note Recorded April 6, 1957
  7. This is definitely among my favorite Chet Baker recordings from the 80's. Don't forget to pay attention to pianist Are Johansson. This guy can play. I have a few other recordings with Johansson as well.
  8. Tomorrow evening my wife and I will be attending a concert by the Naumburg Trio. This is part of the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music evening series. They will be performing the following 3 pieces: Beethoven - Piano Trio in E-flat Major, WoO 38 Shostakovich - Piano Trio No.1 in C Minor, Op.8 Schubert - Piano Trio No.2 in E- flat Major, D.929
