In season 4 of the Netflix TV series "Bosch" there is a scene where detective Bosch, a serious jazz fan is listening to a track by the Jack Teagarden Big Eight, and comments leave that on because a Ben Webster solo is coming next. That material is on this CD.

Thelonious Monk recorded many of his original tunes numerous times. Yet there are some he recorded very rarely. One such tune is "Friday The 13th", a favorite of mine. I was surprised to find that Monk only recorded this tune 3 or 4 times. To select just one example for comparison, Monk's "Straight No Chaser" was recorded by him more than 25 times.
