  13. One name missing from this entire thread that surprised me a bit is Jay McShann. On the one side was his early big band, and on the other side his small group and solo piano/ vocal recordings. As a piano player he fits well with others such as Sammy Price and even Ray Bryant. Were McShann and Sammy Price discussed in the book?
