  1. Brahms - Piano Quartet No.1, Op.25
  2. Beethoven - Violin Sonatas No.2 and No.5
  3. I particularly like the way Holman arranged the version of "If You Could See me Now"
  4. My wife and I went to Slugs one time. The taxi driver taking us there said it was not a safe area and was I sure I wanted to take my wife there. We went anyway and heard some memorable music that evening. Bill Hardman, Junior Cook, Walter Bishop Jr., Paul Brown and Leroy Williams. But after leaving the club we had a very hard time finding a taxi, and both my wife and I were rather scared until we did get a cab. I believe the time we went to Slugs was just prior to when Lee Morgan was shot and killed there.
  5. Mike Murley is one of my favorite (living) tenor players. This is a good album with some particularly fine tenor work by Mike.
  6. Dvorak - String Quartet No.8 - Chilingarian Quartet
  7. Cherubini - String Quartet No.1 and No.2
  8. I like some of the Toots Thielman records. Especially this one on Riverside
