  1. These are four labels which were state-owned at some point in time, and with strong focus on classical music. However, all of them released quite a few jazz discs, among them a bunch by Romanian marvel pianist Iancsy Körössy: https://www.discogs.com/label/21873-Supraphon (Czech) https://www.discogs.com/label/57574-Qualiton (Hungarian) https://www.discogs.com/label/11624-Electrecord (Romanian) https://www.discogs.com/label/34482-Polskie-Nagrania-Muza (Polish)

  17. A fav of mine. Maybe not essential Tete, but I like his interaction with the rhythm section much more than in other albums from the same timeframe. And Billy Higgins is a monster!

  21. Fond memories of my teen years. I was a complete The Smiths nut back then, and bought this double-LP in London in 1987 when it first came out. I still remember how proudly I played it for my schoolmates in one of the "discoforums" I organized at school (it was not released in Spain until much later). Unlike many others, I still think that this music, although stemming from a very particular time and place, has aged well. At least to my ears... And yes, I also hate Morrissey, the character.
