  1. Prompted by this month's org BFT:
  2. Got it. It's 1.13 from this disc. In this Fremeaux CD, it sounds pristinely clear, as compared to the other version I've listened to.
  3. #6 --> tune is 'Swing 39'. Very similar to the classic Hot Club de France version. I will try to check out who's playing!
  4. #10 β€”> Track 9 from this CD.
  5. #9 β€”> I think it is A1 from this disc and track B3 from this compilation, starting at the 29:30 mark.
  6. Sounded so similar to Tex Beneke’s version. Ok, now I got it: https://youtu.be/CHMtpWg2XTc This Vogue disc. Excellent compilation, BTW. Right spot on my personal tastes. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ I will give it some additional spins, to see what else I can identify.
  7. Sorry, I was meaning #7. No Tex Beneke?
  8. #5 is https://youtu.be/ufscEd59nXY Thesaurus Transcriptions, 1949. Available on a Soundies CD.

  17. Ufff, the sound of the soprano sax gets on my nerves here and there, although not to the point that it happens with Coltrane. And I have to recognise it is yet another excellent interpretation of Monk’s music, which we all love.
