Stella placed all of her weight via her elbow on my throat last night horsing around. It hurts like hell to swallow. Hoping it would be better today but not really. Looks like a day of eating CoCo Wheats. Yum... CoCo Wheats.

So on a re-run of Leno, Charles Barkley is on, talking about losing 50 lbs on Weight Watchers. Good for him. But then he said he never ate vegetables or fruit before. He'd never had "cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, & asparagus" but he's eating them now. Leno says "Shoot me right now, that sounds awful." Those are some of my favorite veggies. What's wrong with people?

Food for thought as we enter the new year: Every day is a gift. It sounds cheesy but it's true. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring. This moment, right now, is all we have, and each moment passes by in the blink of an eye.

Holy moly! Zora is actually asleep. Already! She's never fallen asleep this early on Christmas Eve. All the kids are snuggled in bed. We can actually get a head start on the presents! Yay!

The reason why my pecan pie is so good? How about 2 eggs, an entire stick of butter, a cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of white sugar, a cup of chopped pecans, and a teaspoon of vanilla to top it off. I could eat the mixture raw and be happy!

Well, sometimes government does work and rather quickly. My wife got her Ingham County Health Plan card in the mail today, after applying last Friday. It was supposed to take two weeks! The next step is scheduling her surgery. But at least part if not all the surgery will be covered. Whew.

Today would've been my dad's 71st birthday. I think it's appropriate that I'm in the middle of refinishing a piano right now. Happy Birthday, James Theodore Alfredson Jr. December 6th 1940 - May 8th 2008.

Played Giant Steps at a blistering tempo tonight at the jam. Believe it or not, but I've never actually played that tune before. Haha!
